Mystery Author & Cassadaga Medium

Welcome to my website!

It is my intention for YOU to always be entertained when you visit this site.  Please check out myPortrait 2 weekly blog to learn my latest thoughts about the world, spirituality, spirits and information about my books.

Not only am I an author, I am also a Cassadaga psychic medium.  Yes, I am one of THEM!  My association with Cassadaga began in 1980.  That first step through the door of the unknown led me to become a Medium, Psychic Artist and Minister. Today I use my expertise writing murder mystery novels set in Cassadaga, FL.  What better place to use as a location than a town where psychics and mediums make a living talking to spirits???

Please click “Books” to see everything I have written about the spiritual world, Cassadaga and India.

“I read all 4 books of the Cassadaga series within one week and loved them.  I hope there will be more books in the series… I wrote a 5 star review on each book on Amazon.  I hope that will help you.  Thank you for sharing your talent with the readers.  I can not tell you how much the books meant to me.”   Jen Boyd

I did a Blessing of the Babes at Colby Memorial Temple on Mother’s Day in Cassadaga, FL!  Even blessed an unborn child.  How cool is that???  Such sweet children and people!

Furry Children Teach Us Much

Furry Children Teach Us Much

If you aren't an animal lover, you won't relate to the idea of furry children. But to those of us who love and adore the animal kingdom, these furbabies mean the world to us. Our cats and dogs are not mere felines or canines. No, they're more like children with paws.  I remember when my boxer had a litter of nine puppies.  I kept one and named her Elizabeth.  My mother all but had a coronary over that. The rest of the story is this:  my grandmother and my mother are both named Elizabeth Jane, just like me. I told her that I wasn't having children, so I was naming her after me.   I think my mother had other ideas how the family name should be carried ...

The Beatles & Their Guru

The Beatles & Their Guru

Back in the 1960s, it became popular to have a Guru due to a band called the Beatles making a spiritual journey to India.  I was a little young to be caught up in that aspiration, although I certainly was a devout Beatles fan. It seems that in February of 1968, the foursome traveled to Rishikesh, India, which is positioned in the foothills of the Himalayas, and spent some time at the ashram of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Along with their entourage of wives and girlfriends, the Fab Four sought training in Advanced Transcendental Meditation, known as TM.  Other musicians, Donovan, Mike Love of the Beach Boys, and flautist Paul Horn, were also present.  I don't know about the rest, but the Fabulous Four adopted  Maharishi Mahesh Yogi as their guru. It was ...

My Birthday

My Birthday

On Wednesday I’ll be another year older.  Oh, yeah. That isn’t horrible when you consider the alternative, but still… Women, generally speaking, don’t appreciate growing older.  I think it has something to do with wrinkles and sagging facial areas.  Oh, and let’s not forget those sagging body parts.  It’s all downhill at this point, folks.  Nothing is going to ever be perky again. That said, I can honestly say that I’ve learned an awful lot in my ___ years.  When I think back to my 20s, oh, my.  It wasn’t pretty.  I did some really dumb things and could have died in a car accident several times.  But I didn’t.  I guess that meant I was supposed to do something meaningful.  So, what have I done that ...

Be All You Can

Be All You Can

Danica Patrick didn't win the Daytona 500.  But she did place 8th.  Among a sea of men.  She also added two more firsts to her list of historic accomplishments by placing 8th.  I say, JOB WELL DONE!! Danica will be force to be reckoned with in the future.  So, with that in mind, what brought her to the finish line?  Obviously, determination and a bucket load of guts.  Even sitting in the stands watching the races can be dangerous, let alone driving around the track at 180 miles an hour.  An accident in a prior race sent the engine, tire and car parts flying into the audience, injuring people.  But there was our pretty lady, riding around with the big boys in a dangerous sport, competing ...

The Girls Have It

The Girls Have It

I read in a newspaper this morning about Danica Patrick.  You know, the first WOMAN to earn the lead start position in the Daytona 500.  This woman has broken through the gender barrier in a sport dominated by men.  I am so proud! In case you don't know what the Daytona 500 is, let me explain.  It's a big deal here in central Florida.  Thousands of tourists and race fans congregate at the International Speedway in Daytona Beach to watch professional race car drivers risk their lives while they drive cars around a track at incredible speeds in the hopes of becoming the winner. I was so impressed reading about this racing milestone that I went online and purchased a Koozie with her name and number printed ...

Sunflower and Spirits

Sunflower and Spirits

"As the sunflower turns its face to the light of the sun, so, too, Spiritualism turns the face of humanity to the light of the truth." It's such a pretty flower, cheery in appearance and a bit jaunty, don't you think? It is the symbol of Spiritualism. The above phrase is the explanation of why Spiritualists created that saying. Some would disagree, I'm very sure, with that sentiment. However, one could insert the title of any religion in the place of Spiritualism and feel comfortable. As long as they believed in an afterlife.  Frankly, I don't care what a person's individual religious beliefs are. I think it's more important that they just have some and don't feel like this is all there is.  The idea behind ...

Spiritualism

Spiritualism

As I sit contemplating this new blog, I'm looking toward something that's inspiring and new in my life. Hmm.  I want to travel!  Yes!  I want to speak to people who want to hear what I have to say who also want to learn what I know.  I just spoke to a fellow medium who was encouraging me to travel to Spiritualist Camps and Communities, like the Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp in Cassadaga, FL. It seems that people are truly curious about Spiritualism and communicating with spirits.  I guess it's pretty normal to wonder what happens when we cross over to the other side!  Oh, yes it is!  Well, Spiritualism really answers those questions about crossing over and what it's like over there. I feel it's a shame ...

Cassadaga As A Book Setting

Cassadaga As A Book Setting

If you haven't visited the historical and quaint community of Cassadaga, FL, you have missed a big treat. The people here practice Spiritualism as their religion and many in residence give spiritual readings. That's why all the mystery books I've written mention that this is where people make a living talking to spirits. Very true!  Chloe Peebles is the main character in the first three books of the Cassadaga Book Series. She is the reincarnation of Rebecca Nurse who lived during the Salem Witch Trials and was wrongfully hung as a witch. I visited the Nurse Homestead in the 90s and recorded my impressions from that experience. Finally, I wrote the book titled Walking Behind the Moon in 2012 that wove ancient history with pure ...

Psychic Development

Psychic Development

I haven't mentioned it before in this blog, but I teach spiritual and psychic development. Since it's January, classes are starting up by several teachers in the Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp in Cassadaga, FL. Cassadaga is a very historic place where people make a living talking to spirits, giving spiritual counseling and teaching those interested in eventually becoming spiritual readers. It's not an easy trip to the end of the destination of becoming a medium or psychic. Yes, many have natural gifts, but each needs to develop those gifts under the supervision of an experienced teacher. You may wonder why anyone needs assistance in that area since they already have the 'gift.' Control is one big reason. Walking around in a mall with your 'radar' up is not ...
